The mission of the Lakeland Youth Symphony, a not-for-profit organization, is to promote the study and performance of fine orchestral music by the young people in Northern New Jersey, with special emphasis on the development of string instruments, while providing instructional, educational and enrichment experiences and opportunities for the young musician.
As a non-for-profit organization, the Lakeland Youth Symphony relies on the generosity of individuals, corporate sponsors, and arts grants because tuition only covers a portion of our total cost per student. We also want to provide scholarships and/or grants to worthy students of music, as funds are available.
